Each summer, the library creates Summer Reading posters with local celebrities and City dignitaries. I worked with our City photographers to set up the photo shoot for each of the individuals, then added a themed background to the photo, based on the book theme. Photos are displayed during the summer reading months at all Scottsdale Public Library locations.

The Scottsdale Public Library produces a printed calendar of events, detailing the library programs and featured events six times a year. I design, create and oversee all areas of production for the printed calendar. With recent budget cutbacks, I have streamlined the printed calendar from 16 pages down to 8 pages and reduced the amount we order, saving $36,000 a year.

I created the marketing materials and website for the valley wide Summer Reading Program for the summer of 2011. Items included a children's gameboard handout, Summer Reading marketing posters and a website with materials for library customers to download.

We created a new youth outreach reading program at the Scottsdale Public Library called, "Read Aloud Nights". These were a series of storytimes presented out in the community at schools. I created a new logo with Scott, our Library mascot. This program also involved the purchase of a life-sized dog costume to represent Scott at the community storytimes.

I created the marketing materials for the valleywide Culture Pass Program. The Culture Pass Program allows library visitors to "check out" a pass for a museum, venue or zoo for free. They provide one time, free admission for two individuals, good for seven days. This project included creating 12 venue passes for checkout for each of the 12 participating libraires around the valley. Brochures with details about each venue with a map were also created.

In 2007, I was asked to redsign the Scottsdale Public Library library card. At that time, there were four library branches, each with a different look and feel. Each library also had it's own public art installation, giving each branch a specific identity. We selected the feather outside of Civic Center as being the most recognizable and universal to the four branches, promoting a feeling of writing and literacy. In addition to creating full-sized credit card library cards, we also created a "key fob" version to attach to your keyring with a similar design. This project involved working closely with the card vendor and allowing areas for the correct barcode and signature placement on the back of the card(s).
